About Bridge Area Crags:

These are the crags located directly under the Bridge and directly up and downstream of it on the North rim of the New River Gorge. The section, Bridge Buttress is home to the first recorded route in the Gorge (Zag, 5.8, trad). Though Bridge Buttress tends to crowd up on weekend days, a short walk up or downstream will generally yield pleasantly surprising solitude and some of the best trad climbing in the Gorge.
Nearest town or city: Fayetteville, WV
Directions: Take Rte 82 from WV 19, contour down along Gorge rim, under Visitor Center and Overlook. Park with consideration for traffic and other climbers/users of the Gorge. Use the switchback parking area on Rte 82, beyond the Bridge Buttress to access climbs on the North Bridge Wall.
