Description:

This is the most popular route up Teewinot and can be very crowded during the summer. The crowds can make for some exciting moments as there is a lot of loose rock. From the top of the Apex, traverse up and right into a large couloir spliting the Face. The couloir tops out in a huge notch separating the summit block from the majority of the South Ridge. Depending on the season, the couloir can be snow, rock, or some combination. Later in the summer be prepared for some serious, exposed scrambling. Climb the couloir to within a few hundred feet of the top, where it becomes possible to climb rock up and right to the summit.

4 out of 5 stars Teewinot Mtn, East Face

Made it to 11k but the altitude was kicking my ass so we bailed. Living at sea level sucks!

3 out of 5 stars Mt Teewinot

Beautiful summit that's really exposed in some spots. I literally had the mountain to myself that day. I brought climbing shoes with me but didn't use them at all. Took a nasty slide down a glacier on the decent (total alpine noob with no snow gear) but luckily didn't break anything and I was able to hike out ok.
