Start a climbing-related business. You can sponsor yourself as much as you like and better still write it all off against tax as product development/market research/testing etc. It´s considerably better paid than being a pro climber.

So the story is that the company I work for posted that they were offering "sponsorships" to staff to compete in climbing, cycling, kayaking and running... I was the only person to apply for the climbing one and the rest is ^^
