wolf rock sucks

Dude, what are you talking about?
Wolf rock....rocks. Its got the highest concentration of well protected, not chossy, 25 ft, 5.easy climbs in the State. Where else in CT do you have 4-5 5.4 G rated routes under 30 feet tall in a row?
The best I tell ya, the BEST!

its got a G rated 5.0, come ON, thats gotta count for something!

Hi, im kinda new to this site, i signed on a while back, but i havent been climbing in so long. partly due to not living that close to a climbing gym, partly out of laziness and partly out of life getting crazy.

anyways, I am finally going to take the plunge and join GoVertical in Stamford this week, and I wanted to find out if there are any people on here that go there and what they think of it. Keep in mind i havent been doing this ina long time and I am out of shape big time. So its gonna take a while before I am even decent at this.

Also wanted to know if i will see any of you possibly there, give me a holler, because I am going by myself so its a little scary.

I'm going climbing tonight but I'm still not sure where... I used to climb at Go vertical, but since the cliffs opened in Vahalla I've been going there. I'm also curious about the new gym that opened in New Rachelle.

OK, scratch that last part I guess they haven't opened yet. It won't be until May.

BOULDERING!!!
yesterday afternoon, Dudemanbu, myself and NicklikesFire, decided that the beginning of Febuary is the perfect time to GET YOUR SEND ON!!
and we decided to check out Seven Falls in Middletown.

First stop was Pancake Boulder, I started the ball rolling by peeling off the top out of the first V0- boulder problem we came across, just so there weren't any preconceived notions.
No worries though, I got my send on. There are some fun and some tough problems all around that boulder, the crux of a few are the top-outs. Good fun, especially with the Power of Ricky spurring us to get our send on.

After that, we headed over to Bible Rock, and checked out a few problems. There was this terrible overhanging layback/jamcrack, that no one could get up, as well as this strange piece of metal sticking out of the top of the boulder, perfect for aiding in the descent.

Dudemanbu flashed up the heinous offwidth problem, that he was reluctant to grade, but decided on V7c.

All the cool kids were there, why weren't you?

I am trying to find some people to climb with. I have been climbing for about two years. I sport climb and I moved back to Connecticut from Arizona last summer but I haven't found too many people to climb with yet. I don't mind training in a gym sometimes but I really like to get outside. I am definitely interested in doing multipitch climbs and getting out on real rock. I also like to boulder, I have a pad, rope, some draws, and a few other random pieces. I would love to learn trad too. I also just started ice climbing would love to get out more, I don't know much about set-ups for ice climbs though. Basically I am dying to climb and lost all my climbing partners when I moved (I'm getting sick of bouldering at the gym).

Also, just so you know a little about me I am 24, female, and I work at Patagonia. I've also been an outdoor instructor and worked at a climbing gym (among other things). I am probably interested in climbing 5.10 and up when I'm looking for more challenging routes - although I might be somewhat out of shape at the moment...

Well mostly this is what my profile says but I thought I'd post it just so I could try to get more responses.

Go figure, you all pick a day I have off and I already made plans. Where do you guys go??? Most of the places I know to boulder don't have a lot of sun exposure so it would be pretty cold.

Yeah, the cold is bearable cause the short routes, and we have the heat of the buzzing high tension powerlines to keep us warm :D

There isn't a lot of ice that forms at the gunks, due to all the sun it gets. Myself, trainor, devkrev, and many others have climbed at the gunks this winter, in january.

Basically, anytime it's warm enough for you to climb, the gunks are waiting.

come one, come all, this is an open invitation to
Tuesday Afternoon Bouldering!!!
On a tuesday at two o clock,
your weeks begun, but you feel like
you strength is waining to the min,
and you need something to pull you
through, till the week is over, and
you are on the weekend homestretch.

everyone should come bouldering at Seven Falls in Middletown
We usually meet around 3-4 and climb till dark, or our fingers bleed, or both
Tell you're friends, the more the merrier
and if you have a pad, bring it.
Shoot a PM to myself or Dudemanbu, so we know to expect you
its a good time, and Spring is coming so its time to quit pulling plastic(or ice) and get out on some real rock
Hope to see you there

i'm gonna be on spring break from march 10th to march 19th so if anyone wants to get out to to maybe pinnacle, or ragged, or maybe even the gunks or anywhere else in the area let me know.
