Hi all, I've changed my username since Dicks bought out galyan's, I can no longer be galyansrockgirl oh well, I was just wondering where everyone has been? I got a new job, now at Bally's so I'll be able to go on weekend trips hopefully. My next trip probably won't be until late Feb early March, what is everyone else's plans? ~megan

Hi, thanks. I'll let you know when we are both available and we can go from there. Also, I was wondering what everyone prefered to use as a belay device? I personally like grigri's better than ATC's (probably because I dropped my boyfiend using one) and if there are any other types of belay devices? Oh, and I don't know if anyone would have an answer for me, but under my username when you look on the forums, it said I joined in 1970, obviously thats not true, does anyone know how I can fix that? Thanks, Meg

I personally like grigri's better than ATC's (probably because I dropped my boyfiend using one) and if there are any other types of belay devices? i own both and it depends on the situation which i prefer, but if i am catching a leader, i normally use an ATC. i feel that i have more control. if i am belaying a buddy who is projecting something, and i expect them to sit on the rope some, then, i use the gri-gri.

Thanks, Meg i don't know how to fix it, but there seem to be a profile glitch during the early part of december and everyone who registered showed up that way... let's plan on a weekend sometime in february. do some bouldering. happy new year r.r.

Hi Ron, its Meg, different username again since the other didn't seem to work, ugh. With classes starting I'm not sure when I'll have free time to come down. I'm actually looking for a job. Would you or anyone else happen to know if any place is hiring? Well, my boyfriend doesn't think its a good idea to boulder at your place. How can I convince him it'd be okay?

It's a great set up plus his family is great too..... thanks for the good words chris. looking forward to seeing you in about 10 days. (i will be out in july with the family and then again in september -- like last year) meg, if you frequent this website you are either 1. interested in meeting folks with similar interests or 2. enjoy talking politics and picking fights (in which case you would post in community). :? so... a little more of a drive than climb time, but the money saved on entrance fees can go to pizza. :D i don't know what the issue is...after all, i invited him too....

Well, I have decided that for my spring break trip we are going to RRG. Not sure of the exact dates yet. Does anyone know if Miguels will be open in March? I really want to eat the pizza! LOL. Oh, and what is the name of the route at Unlikely that is the very first one you come to after the hike up? I can't find a topo of the area and can't remember what some of the routes are called. Megan :)

The very first route you come to at Unlikely is a 5.10... There has been no name for it, probably because the first two walls you come to basically suck (In my humble opinion). None of the routes on A1 or A2 are named. Once your past all the bouldering (The Teeth, The Bouldering Walls) you come to A Wall. The first route there is Easy Streak 5.7 but the hangers have been removed because there is a big ass tree laying across the route and nobody can climb it. The route next to it is that easy gully looking thing called "Honk if your Horny" 5.4. I plan on going here this spring and redoing the topos that Foy originally had made. There are a few more routes that have top rope anchors and several that have had their hangers stolen. The route information needs to be updated. I do not plan on waisting too much time on this project however.

Thanks Andy for the info. I know there is another route that I've climbed there, maybe B or C wall. It's on a corner and to the left of the route is a big boulder inbetween another route. If you don't know what I'm talking about, thats fine, I'll figure it out somehow. Also, does anybody know on this site how your rating goes? My number still says 0, yet I've posted some pics and quite a few posts. Oh well, thanks!

Oh well, thanks! the rating thing stopped changing sometime in november, i think. i don't know if (or when) they plan on fixing it. andy would certainly know more but it seems to be a reflection of your contributions to the site thru posts, gear reviews, database stuff, etc. hey andy, is the vertical excape comp really on a sunday (which is what i think i saw)? considering bringing my daughter down if i am off. r.r.
