Hot climbing chicks are MUCH more interesting than this thread. Some can't even climb 5.10 either

In reply to: This thread is getting better and better, can't believe people take a chat room so serious. Keep up the good work. Joe Garland Wait, who changed their original topic title, started new threads with unwanted posts removed, and tried to blame things they did on the moderators? Sounds like somebody took things pretty seriously.

In reply to: This is getting really good. Really.....Covering up an error by trying to laugh it off stopped working for me in elementary school. But nice attempt. You made a mistake, and you still have yet to apologize. Don't laugh it off, or try to hide it. All that does is make it worse. Sure madrock quality is lacking, but just because you were called out for it doesn't mean it's the climbers fault. Cheaply made shoes wear out on anyone, not just people who climb under 5-10. As an add exec I still want to know if you have ever used the product or are just taking advantage of a bunch of climbers online, to name your shoes for you. Be creative and think for yourself, and if you ask the public to help you advance your career, try not bashing them when they tell you your product sucks. I own a pair of Madrocks. I bought them cause they were cheap and my first pair of climbing shoes, so I didn't care if I ruined them or not. They aren't the best quality, but are better than hiking boots for edging and smearing. After these fall apart I will buy some new shoes. They aren't far from falling apart now, but like I said that is why I bought them.

I read this on another site but found it so relevant, I needed to quote it here:
In reply to: f*cking up is something that we all do and is salvagable if the person mans up and fixes things. It is not our mistakes neccesarily that define our character, it is how we face those mistakes and grow from them that defines our character. Joe has clearly defined his character (or lack thereof) with this thread.

Thank you Doctor Phil. Glad you guys take all this stuff so seriously. Now go out and get a life. Oh yea by the way, there was no mistake, and I am not sorry. Lots of people make smart ass remarks not related to the thread on this site. I chose to call someone on it, thats whats fun about this site. Lots of people have done the same thing to me, its all part of the fun. If you review the profile of the person I shot down you will see they amazingly have had lots of dective gear (probably including the large rescue 8 with ears they are sport climbing with). It is not unreasonable to question their perspective just as you are questioning mine. If they had approched me privately with a concern I would have responed to them the same way. The original thread was meant as a way to reward the resourcefull members of rockclimboing.com for helping us name products, there are lots of other threads going for the purpose of slandering people gear, use one of those or start your own. Its a regular process on this site for people to get spanked for being out of line, only a few of you have descided to make it a life and death struggle. It is fun and it is amusing. Luckily when at the gym, the rock or the hill, climbers can take a stll joke and dish it out without all the serious social reprecusions effecting their play. I still find this thread pretty amusing although I think most people are boored with it. Joe

In reply to: Oh yea by the way, there was no mistake, and I am not sorry. OK, sure, but you are also clearly failing to generate good PR for MadRock. Don't you care about that? That's your job, or so I understand. You do want to keep your job, don't you? -aB

Actually, it strikes me that Joe has done a highly capable job of generating publicity for Mad Rock's products. If the adage "there is no bad publicity" is true, then this troll has been highly effective. It has generated considerable interest - close to 10,000 page views for this constantly changing thread alone - and a smattering of notoriety to mix the pot. I'd hire him in a heartbeat!

Regardless of Joe's comments and what you may think of him and Mad Rock, I just have to ask this question... Shouldn't you have to be able to spell in order to be a Marketing Rep?
