Glad the girl is okay. It really is a shame you folks can't have a respectful and civil conversation, kept on track, in the I&A forum. With the kind of crap getting posted here, I will never participate meaningfully in another thread in I&A. It's disgraceful. GO

Out of respect for the little girl who was injured (remember her?) and others directly involved in this incident, I'd like to request that this thread be locked until there is something substantive and substantiated to report. This flame-fest is embarrasing to this coummunity, and disrepectful of those directly involved.

Heard somewhere else that the girl was released from the hospital either last night or early this morning.. people just need to be safe and check everything at the top.

Still can't believe the injuries sustained by both girls were not serious. I read a quote from one of the papers this morning that the mother said the girl would continue to climb. Pretty impressive. Anyone know if 40 feet is enough to reach terminal velocity? I'm not a physics person, so this may sound like a dumb question, but imagine the girl who "caught / was fallen on". How does she walk away without serious injury? Glad they are both OK.

In reply to: i do not think it was a straight drop that is pure speculation. you do not know exactly what happened. come up with some real fact and then add your comment.

Majid, please..... if you don't want others to flame you, then try a little harder to be nice. Given Jake is speculating, but he is not making outlandish comments. You post was not constructive at all, please have some self-control. You can't always accuse others that ridiculed you, but yet you keep on provoking them. It is a two way street, seriously, try a little harder to be considerate. You are not the I&A nazi.

I am nice both on-line and in real world. go around and ask people who know me in person if you are not sure. A real MOD should look and see who is starting flames round here. So, the girls are OK. Can we all agree that this is a lucky / good thing? Can we also all agree that sometimes shit happens, can happen to anyone and at anytime? All those in favor say "aye" aye.

For the record i have always argued against majid's ideas, posts and pictures.. not until the anchor thread in General did i make it personal (and that was an experiment) Trolls are in the same sentence of the TOS as personal attacks so they should be viewed equally

I never say you are not nice, just try a little harder to be nice. We all can do that, right? Don't make this like a high-school.

well.. sort of.. more of a test. I wanted to see if trolling was getting let go then maybe a personal attack would get let go.. alas it did not. If anything of significance happens in the MR thread in the next 7 days it would be greatly appreciated if it was PM'd to me. ---------- Hannah is bruised but not broken and seems to be resolved to keep climbing. Communication was confused and a mistake was made.. she will learn from it and be smarter for it. I'd like to say good job to the Rumney fire guys and rescue as well as the counselors and climbers who volunteered to help carry her down a very difficult and long trail to get down to the road for treatment. For those who do not know the Hinterlands are one of the farthest, highest crags from the road and the trail is steep and includes at least one fixed hand line section

From the linked-to definition of troll in the rc.com TOS:
wikipedia.com wrote: troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community... Majid has continually irritated, annoyed and infuriated people for years and has shown no intention of even acknowledging anyone's concerns. Wouldn't the I/A forum be the epicenter of "sensitive topics" on this site? Keep him over in the General or, better yet, the Campground forums where there's a little more leeway for trolling.
