When I did mine, the trauma surgeon sewed them back together. Said that they were an absolute mess. Not a clean tear in any of them. Sewed the tendons that attach to the smallest three toes together to give more support. Of course when I had to have my second surgery, the foot and ankle specialist was mortified and re-did it all. Seperating them all. I now have a lot of scar tissue that hurts like hell when I do most anything. Hope yours turns out to me nothing but a temporary annoyance with no lasting impact.

The exploding member would get to you much faster than it would me. I wouldn't feel any pain, but you would have phantom pain just thinking about it. Makes perfect sense to me. Besides, the foot cheese comment reminds me of when mine got infected after a similar injury. Only I had no pins. I just got sand in the healing wound while in Thailand on the beach.

You remember Gail's husband Mitch? He just went through a surgery for his wrist. He was hanging off a fist jam, his foot slipped and then something felt really really wrong. It ended up he broke the plate in his wrist.

So I'm playing with thai flavours in my cooking now. I lurve the Kaffir lime leaves. Tonight was a stir fry with the lime leaves, chili flakes, fish sauce, peanut butter and cilantro.
Was really good, but scoping out some curries, etc, online I realized I'm totally missing thai basil. Not quite sure how to get my hands on some without growing it.

The ortho surgeon told me that if I were to have my tibial rod removed, it would be like rebraking the leg with a six month healing. Shit I don't think that the gerkz have done much surgery tawk yet! So, who has/had hardware? Kel, Me, Beccs, Doc, who else? Nathan has a femur rod. And I somehow feel like Mo should be included on this list, even if none of her hardware is internal. Oh yeah, was that from Nathan's meatdecking?
doubtful? I think when he meatdecked the talus, he just ended up with a tear in his ass.

Sewed the tendons that attach to the smallest three toes together to give more support. Of course when I had to have my second surgery, the foot and ankle specialist was mortified and re-did it all. Seperating them all. I now have a lot of scar tissue that hurts like hell when I do most anything. Hope yours turns out to me nothing but a temporary annoyance with no lasting impact. Ugh, yeah, I hope mine is not that bad. Now another one of the pins is hurting and threatening to break through.
Glass still pushes through every now and then, but it never hurts. Fun party trick
