OOOH, ok, I still can't get the "inline linked and attachments" to work. But I did get the "inline attachments" only one to work. So it shows pics you attach to the post directly in the thread. Ok, everyone go get the bookmark thingy and MCT will be back in full swing.

Folks, that little applet was a sop to us users, to try and get the new owners off the hook for taking away our ability to embed images. ddt mentioned in his initial reply to feedback (in the seggestions adn feedback forum) that taking embedded images out of the forums was a "style and branding issue" congruent with dropzone.com. the reasons he gave for not allowing them amounted to personal preference, so whatever. the new owners don't like embedded images. I doubt that they are coming back. have fun.

Yeah, i guess they thought all text looked more professional = BORING for the users. Since when do climbers care about looking professional!?!?!?! (Forgot who mentioned this to me... GO?) But hey, if it works I'll take the applet.

I dunno. I have to do somethign extra, JUST FOR THIS ONE WEBSITE, so that i can see embedded pictures, which take no extra effort at all on every other webstie I frequent? just because the new owners don't like it? Allison, it grates on me. motherfuckers.

So, I guess that means we shoudl ALL start using it? ;-) y'know, that makes me smile, that the new owners come in, with their preferred "style and branding* - insert farting noise here - but the users don't like it, and so hack the site to return it to the way they like it. going home now, maybe get in 30 minutes on the attic wall before I head to Pam's Gabe, you still interested in some xmas-day local guerilla action? I have my raid sites picked out. anarchy will prevail. I hope. ;-)

Gabe.. it looks like i am available after Noon on both days.. which were you thinking? I will talk to kate and see if she has any imput and post up later tonight. pshh spotters.. i've sent 2 of my hardest projects sans spotter and probably misplaced pad ;) great motivation to not let go. I was going to go to CR sunday but with this rain i don't think it will be dry.. plus i got to thinking that from Medfield it's really out of the way. and yea rob.. that applet was not made by a member of the Admins or Mods but rather one of the main contributors to the 2 photo forums. I don't think it was meant to help the owners at all. what pisses me off more is that when i hit reply i can only see the one post..

Hmm, well, it's supposed to be ~ 5 degrees warmer on Saturday, but it's supposed to be super windy, which will make it feel much colder. So Sunday, even though it's only supposed to get up into the lower 40s is probably the best day. Got my number? GO

So long Derek. Sorry you're leaving but I can well understand it. The transition has been a fiasco so far, and nothing about it speaks well for the new owners. I hope you're posting this in the Suggestions thread too, to draw wider notice.

Maybe I'm Jonesing a bit too hard but... Email me at Lucander24@yahoo.com if you're interested in Gunks, Rose Ledge, Crow, or Cathole on Tue or Thu. We can do some easy climbs if its cold, maybe try a bit harder if it's nice. Milk that season and avoid looking at the weather forecast for twentynine palms. David L.

The new RC.com is unacceptable to me as a user because: - Have to disable both my hardware & software firewalls to log on. - Have to turn off my anonymizer. - Have to enable persistent cookies. - Internal links broken. - No inline images. ... RC.com has something rare on the web: 99% of its content is provided free of charge by its users. To implement the changes above in spite of the protests of these same users is, to me @ least, very poor judgement & shows indifference on the part of new site ownership. And rather than wait, perhaps indefinitely, for the people in charge to make it usable again I'm taking my clicks elsewhere. I'm in the process of deleting every bit of content I've put on RC.com because it is mine, & as such I don't want it associated w/ this site as it now exists. I have to do it manually because the site's administration has thus far refused to automate the task for me. Again, indicative of their view of user issues/requests. So it's gonna take awhile. I know that some MCers have my contact info (email, cell #) - Gabe, Jake, Jeremy, & Alison @ least. I'll put my email below, but this post will be deleted in a week or so so write it down if you want it. I hope that if/when any of you are heading to the Western Slope you'll get in touch so we can climb together. And when I'm heading East I'll do the same. Take care everyone, -Derek derek_DOT_hanrahan_AT_gmail_DOT_com Derek is a much more respected climber in this community than the hack that I am, but I know there are 2 or 3 people on this site that actually ARE interested in my whereabouts and contact info, so for those select few: I am also finished with this site for the same reasons Derek pointed out as well as some other more personal reasons, although deleting my content (aside from my profile) isn't really necessary since it's just useless banter as opposed to Derek's useful, thorough, and highly regarded content . So, here's MY info: jeff_at_jeffmusic_dot_net I'll probably bump into some of you at some point in the future, but to those of you I lose touch with, I wish you peace and happiness and safe ventures.
