For anyone interested, there is talk, amongst myself, Chad, our Maine-iac friend Epoch, and perhps jake, regarding a day-trip raid to Whitehorse on 4/14, weathar cooperating of course. watch this space, more news as it develops. and now, the ritual appetite whettage, courtesy last year's april WH raid.

Of course.. best warm up at Rumney IMO.. it has crimps, jugs, jams, roof, slab, vert. hehe Joanna (remember her?) got a kick out of my hold by hold knowledge of that route from so many repeats. Jammer etc also laughed at me when i did it in the rain at RU 4 IT. It did shut me down last march when the hold over the roof was covered in ice can't wait till it warms up up there. LW Saturday i think as long as it doesnt rain.. 45+ friction will be rockin' but not too cold (does it amuse anyone else that i have the lowest body fat count here and goes in the cold the most ;) )

Would you believe I still haven't lead it? I followed Gabe on it sometime in... november maybe. Way too cold for me. (50s) You may have the lowest body fat... but I bet you can hold a candle to my crappy girly peripheral circulation!

That i believe Al.. you were freezing at Blair and i was pretty comfortable.. I guess my circulation is pretty good.. especially after i'm warmed up i'm pretty much good to go. It was 40 last sunday and i was wearing a polypro long sleeve and would only put my jacket on for long rests and walking between boulders. Hide Gabe's rack and we'll go play on the fun roofs :)

Oh man, Rob that sounds awesome! April is already pretty booked up for me, but if weather should intervene and it were to get moved to the April 27th weekend I'd definately be there, otherwise April kinda sucks for me... Anyone up for QQ this weekend? I convinced Janine that if it is dry and above 40 that we HAD to go climbing :-P I just hope that all my work is done by then. Just a few more days until I'm on Sring Break!! Speaking of which, I'm off of work for the next 2 weeks, so if anyone is looking for a partner between 3/11 and 3/22 I'm probably free, just post or PM and let me know.

ROB and company. Sliiiiight change for me. I'll be better off on the third weekend in April. That'd be the first weekend that was suggested. I'll divulge details then. Also could make it a weekend thing too.

Chad, think you could change it up to the 21st? Ben, what time saturday were you thinking of?

Jake thakns for the link! those rocks are all in the woods between the Milford Upper CHarles trail south of the highway and the powerlines next to 495. I've climbed on several of the rocks in the pictures. dude, MANY projects abound there.

Hey Everyone I was looking into moving to the metrowest area and was wondering if anyone lives there currently and if so we you find yourself climbing indoors when you can't climb outside.

Jake, awesoem , I'l check it out. You should come up some time and take a tour of the Milford Boulders with me. I"ve tried out a few things on that boulder Joe called, "The Atomic Boulder" and it's got a bunch of overhanging stuff I'd want a spot for. Carpediem, I live in Milford, the western fringes of Metrowest, during the warm months I clilmb at College Rock, Purgatory, Lookout Rock, Quincy Quarries, & the Milford Quarries/Boulders, and in the cold months I climb on my upstairs attic wallie. depending on where in Metrowest you are, BRG or Metro would be reasonable winter climbing venues. either are a 45+ mile haul for me.

One day i will stop trying to get rob to go to rumney.. maybe it is just the challenge of it since he denounced bolts before he ever clipped one.

The miracle of Spring. As it works its miracle on the many other things that appear dead and dying during the cold winter months... the lengthening of the days and the warming of the earth has breathed new life into the MassClimbers thread. Warms the cockles of my heart, it does. Heh heh. He said "cock". G

Has anyone been up to rumney lately? Just wondering how much snow is up there still. Looking to go up monday, think it will be dry after the couple days of good weather?
