In reply to: i'm going to try to be there. hardly anybody here knows me, but i do hold the distinction of the only person to have climbed with both coldclimb and dr_kodos (!) and they both seem to still like me alright, so i guess i can get along with anybody. I know you! :D

I suppose I could make it a project to send PM's to each of the people on the list reminding about the trip and asking if they have decided yet.....

You know what? I'll do a mass PM to all listed since I'd like to get everyone's first name anyway without having to look up every single profile and some people don't show their real name in their profile anyway... I'll post results later. edit: can't seem to do a mass PM...it'll only accept a few user names. I'll post a question in the information forum and see what they say.

In reply to: I'm not telling whether I'll be there or not because I don't want a t-shirt or a name tag. PS there's also a character limit to the number of users you can enter in the cc column. That's why you can't send out just one mass email. You'll need to do probably 6 or 7 to accommodate the size of the group. You know, I'm getting the feeling plenty of people really don't want to do this, so I think I'm gonna give up on the idea all together... :? That eliminates the need for the mass PM (for me anyway.) I guess we'll just have to see if the tentatives show... See you all in a couple of weeks!

Well....I was just thinking that we could switch out each other's name tags and get everyone all confused ("Wow," sez so-and-so. "You're not at all the way I imagined you would be from your posts".... Truthfully, I don't think people would wear name tags. But if the graphic you designed for the iron-ons was cool, people would probably like it. Even if they only put it ona shirt the wear alone, on those lonely nights when they're stuck at home feeling sorry for themselves.... Or a sticker they could put on their helmets, or Nalgene's or something. Alas, it is not to be.....

In reply to: Or a sticker they could put on their helmets... Not a bad idea. It could be like a warning message to unsuspecting climbers. The SCMA should have stickers, too. -Jay

Pleeeeeze make stickers. BIG ones! I am going to sneak up to Jay, and unbeknownst to him, paste one on the back of his shirt. He'll never be the wizer.... All day long he'll be wandering around, wondering why all those dirtbags are talking reeeeal slow to him, expounding exuberant encouragement as he gears up for his climbs, asking if he borrowed his buddy's gear, and snickering as he wlkas past them.

Jay, is it O.K. if I show up? After all I did host the first J-Tree Shin Dig. I think I may be in town for that weekend. So any objections to me showing up? Oh I won't need a place to camp. P.S. I'll Show up as long as there is no Zac tipping this year. Zac

Popcorn and sodas, a nice gear raffle (shoes, packs, tent, ....) as well as FOJT swag. More info can be gotten on the FOJT website, if you are interested. Ropefriend That is going to get in the way of drinking! Now we will need to have DDs... True....but you can BYOB, and a BBQ available too. By the way the films and raffle are at the Joshua Tree Inn, not JT Oasis. Sorry for the misdirect. Check out friendsofjosh.org to sign up or check it out at least. Ropefriend

Lemme know - I might actually sleep in my toy taco camper... depending upon space & wind velocity... hate to see you two sleeping in a tiny hat... :)
