I have just finished reading all the posts and I wanted to add my prayers and support. I have a few other friends that I will ask for prayers also. Peggy, I know that you are facing the toughest climb of your life, but remember that we know you can make it. Brian

Peggy; My prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I was in a bad climbing accident back in '93. I broke my back, shattered my pelvis and have multiple plates and screws holding me together. I spent five weeks in the hospital and another six months in a wheelchair. I only say this to let you know that it eventually gets better. I have gone on to climb and ski harder than before the accident. Just remember to to look for the light at the end of the tunnel and stay mentally strong, you'll be back. peace... Joe B.

Hello All! This is Peggy. I have read all of your posts and want all of you to know that all the prayers that have been prayed for me and my family are greatly appreciated. I know I am blessed by the friendship I have with Craig and I want him to know he will forever have a special place in my heart. I just returned home on the 7th of October. My accident was on the 1st of September so it was a long time before I was able to be home for my son and my dog. I have gone through three surgeries total. The first was on the day of my accident only to stabilize me. My second one was the one Craig had talked about. The last was a skin graph I had to have due to compartment syndrome. My total injuries are as follows: my two small toes on my left foot are broken, my fibula (?) which is the small bone on the front of the shin on the lower leg was broken in half and was reset, I have an L5 and S1 fracture above my pelvis bone which does not allow any weight onto my right hip, also they had to rebuild my ball and joint on my left hip which does not allow any weight on my left hip, and last I had to undergo a skin graph where they took the donor skin from the top of my left leg and placed it on the outside of my left calf due to the inability to close my leg up because of the compartment syndrome from the accident (I was pinned in my drivers seat by all the metal torn and pushed on my driver's side). The doctors have told me I cannot walk until possibly December if my L5 and S1 plus my left ball and joint have healed up enough to bear my weight. So life consists of being in a wheelchair and relying on family and friends to help me in my everyday needs. My oldest son who is in the Army was allowed to come home for the weekend of September 23-25. He is doing well and will graduate from his training on November 4th and will be home for two weeks before going to Germany for two years. My youngest son is happy to have mommy back home and happy to sleep in his own house. My dog is also happy I am home. I am keeping my spirits up and working myself as hard as I can (when the pain allows it) with my Occupational therapist, my Physical therapist, and the home health nurse. I work my upper body with 24 different exercises with weights in my hands (currently 3lbs). These I have to do 4 reps of 15 with each of the 24 exercises everyday. I am also doing several leg exercises to strengthen my right leg more and to strengthen my left leg. I also am pedaling bike pedals to strengthen and loosen stiff joints in my legs. I do all these exercises each day (and twice on a good day!). Although I have been told my ball and joint on the left leg will never be 100%, I intend on climbing again one day. I have strong determination, I am young enough (35! ), I have my Lord, Jesus Christ, holding on strongly to me and helping me all the way! Again thank you all for the prayers and support. I appreciate all of you, especially you Craig, for your support. P

how horrible - may healing energies be sent that way to her and her loved ones -- we can never really take away someones pain but i know for me from a bad car accident long ago and recent climbing one that it sure can help to know others are thinking and praying for you. peace and love Vicky

In reply to: I am not much of a religious man. I haven't been to church or prayed in years. I don’t know if I much believe in the power of prayer but my beliefs are irrelevant right now. God is a big part of Peggy’s life, thus the reason for this post. Belief is not required to be the subject of a prayer. I will pray for her. Josh

God be with you, Peggy! Take good care of yourself. It is a relief to know that you are home and in such good spirits. Craig, again, what a beautiful thing you've done. Whatever you believe, may God be with you, too.
