i have a pair of la sportiva's a mistral. i've used it quite a while and noticed that the rubber doesn't grip that much. i don't want to resole right now because i'm outta cash. could somebody post something on making them rubbers sticky again?

You could try a 1/2 resole. This would be relatively inexpensive. This is where only the tips of the shoe are resoled. This could probably be done for 30 bucks or so. Probably even less.

I don't know of anyway to improve the existing rubber of your shoes. If they are slick, maybe you could try sanding them a little with fine sandpaper, but I don't reccomend this and don't think it would help much.

sorry,

tim

i dun think its anyhing to do with resoling...is theres rubber, its still usable!
it just needs some cleaning. All u have to do is clean the soles with water..or even better rub it with alcohol. after this brush it with a fine wire brush..presto!
believe me, this works and makes your rubber like new..

use a wire brush and roughen up the toes and ball of the foot area. that usually makes it really sticky. also, wash the whole shoe with just water from the hose. it makes it look brand new- or close to it.
