Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there knows how possible it would be to have an unfolded Revolution 12-Gauge in a Dorm Room. I am going off to college soon and looking for a new pad and was leaning towards a 12-Gauge, but I am not sure, would space restraints call for a Hinged pad which I could keep folded, like the Mondo? Thank you.

Just get a pistol grip kit. You'll lose some accuracy. Don't fire till the last second. Those folding stocks add too much bulk IMO.

Because the guy lived, this is just freaky funny. That Alex is constantly in World of Warcraft geek mode in front of our den window in our drive-by-a-licious neighborhood just makes this all the more morbidly amusing. That is so getting forwarded to my witty internet friends. Sorry, Grim. I know, your crashpad thread got hosed.

the real answer to your question is another question (or two or three): 1. are you sharing the room with climber(s)? 2. how big is the dorm room? If the answer to number one is yes, then I'd bet that you wouldn't have much of a problem keeping any type of gear in your room, as far as your room mate is concerned. If you don't have a roommate who climbs, then see how big the room is, maybe you could store it under your bed or in a closet or something... -Sean

I'm going to make a huge assumption here and say that you have bunk beds. If you do then store it unfolded and put it between the beds and the wall. I wasn't bouldering when I was in college but this is what I would have done if I had a pad then.

Was that neighbor guy playing "Taxi Driver"? "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well, I'm the only one here. Who do the fuck do you think you're talking to?" Haven't seen that movie in years....scary... Yeah, back to the OP, most dorms don't allow 12 gauges... What about buying a big enough pad to double as a mattress? Also might impress your date... Cheers, -Brian in SLC

I think you'd be better leaving the hardware at home. IMO, with the cramped living and friends running all over the place, you increase the chances that some drunken jackass will be waving your sh*t all around thinking it's amusing and having an accident is a real possibility. You should check on the school rules having a weapon on their property may get you kicked out of school. They may have a lockup area or protocal availably as well if you just want to park one with the security folks. Most campus have a "campus security", and you don't appear to want the weapon for hunting.....so whats left, putting holes in the ceiling? Good luck.

3 easy steps to solving your problem. 1. Get rid of mattress. 2. Buy Mondo. 3. Store Mondo where mattress used to be when not in use. Voila! And for all the detractors that say that chicks won't dig it.... they're college chicks. They'll do anything! Steve

I think the Mondo is a better choice regardless of space issues. I personally find the hinge design much mroe durable and easier to manage, but I have fallen on both and in terms of functionality I can't complain about either. Another question: where are you going to college and what areas are you hoping to go to? Both of those pads absolutely suck to bushwhack with...

Is it possible in your dorm room to screw some webbing into the roof and strap it up there? I have a buddy who did this in the university of Calgary dorm. OF course don't forget to unscrew it when you leave in the summer if you want a damage deposit back...oh and in the spirit of one upmanship, i think you need something with a little more punch to it... i personally like either the metolius behemoth or this little beaut: http://www.lakesideguns.com/c3gallery/sweepers.jpg

time to think "loftbed" chicks dig it and you can build a bouldering wall (see above post) store your crash pad and still have room to put a desk (yeah right what the hell are you going to do with a desk in a dorm room except store more junk on it!) http://www.oploftbed.com/
