I will be visiting baton rouge at the end of the week and moving there as soon as the army lets me. What is the closest indoor or outdoor climbing spots?

I went to school in Baton Rouge. The closest indoor gyms are Rok Haus in Lafayette, about 45 minutes west. And two gyms in New Orleans, 1 hour east. I recommend Rok Haus in Lafayette. It is near the ULL. As for outdoors, you will be equidistant from Sand Rock in NE Alabama, and the fine limestone around Austin Texas. Each about 7 hours away. A couple extra hours will get you to Chatanooga, TN. There is some of the best climbing east of the rockies.

Head to Sandrock - Horse Pens 40 is actually about an hour closer. Alabama has tons of climbing in all varieties. I just moved to Lake Charles and am hoping to find someone here that would be willing to help build a small home wall, probably your best bet.
