In reply to: Sheep's Nose and a route called Lost in Space... A very good climb. The start is alittle tricky to decipher...thanks to that world class guide book. You'll dig this route! josh

In reply to: For the near future my thoughts are trending toward Sheep's Nose and a route called Lost in Space... gotta keep the club going and all, besides, I'm a granite lover. Hard rock, incipient cracks, and a little bit of runout- why not?! It's been a few moons since I did Lost in Space, but I don't remember the runouts being all that bad. I recall the crux crack taking thin pro from a less-than-perfect stance, and you do have to climb above the last piece when the crack fades to a seam. Overall, a fun route, but it wouldn't be all that hard to get off route during the climb. Last weekend I was a little further south in the Platte, and there were sections of snow up to 10" deep on the north facing flats, although most open ground generally had 2-4" of snow. South facing slabs were already dry, but cracks were still a little wet or snowy. Given that Lost in Space receives a fair amount of sun during the day, I'd lay odds it is climbable on a warm day -- although the cracks could still hold a bit of moisture here and there. Expect roads to be a little sloppy and the approach hike to have a little mud (or snow in the shady areas).

In reply to: I'll be bringing a date too. Afterall, Size Does Matter. Whatever happened too... It's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean. It's not the size of the pen, but how you sign your name. And none of this seems to be an issue for guys like Gene Simmons (of KISS fame) who can lick their eyebrows.

Howdy all, I moved to Summit County a couple weeks ago and am looking to find some more climbing partners. I have a rack, couple 60m ropes, sport lead up to 10b and trad 8-9ish. I'm really wanting to get more into Ice and Alpine this winter as well as trad, and I am all about road trippin anywhere. Weekends are free for me. Lookin forward to rockin it! Clayton

True, true, not to mention: It's not the size of the hammer, but how you pound it. It's not the size of the wand, but the quality of the magic. It's not the wattage of the bulb, but how it turns you on. It's not the size of the fire, but the heat it generates. This could go on and on......

hey eh'body... so, i got invited to an (in person this time) interview at that place with the things with the holes in them...you know, about a job. yeah that place. i'll be seeing them tomorrow afternoon. it's been my experience that once i can get an interview, all it takes is some knock knock joke magic, and i've got the job. hopefully, soon i'll be gainfully employed, and able to treat you all to a round of root beer. wish me luck!

You're going to be a gynocologist? Wait, no, let me guess again, um, Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat? Wait, I've got it - you're going to be a proctologist, right?! Whatever it is, good luck, and remember - wash your hands before *and* after. Cheers! GO

hey - my brother is in town for 2 days, so i won't be climbing. and a lot of folks are planning on skiing tomorrow. i did see that flamer (his name is josh) posted that he is seeking a partner for sat. i've never climbed with him, but i've heard that he's solid and super safe. i do know that he's nice, easy to get along with, etc. he's also a fireman (hence "flamer"). good luck finding a partner! susan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJaiji_8kkk "What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs rolls over your neighbor's dog? What's great for a snack and fits on your back? It's Log, Log, Log! It's Log, Log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood. It's Log, Log, it's better than bad, it's good! Everyone wants a log! You're gonna love it, Log! Come on and get your log! Everyone needs a Log!" Yes, I'm bored.
