Anyone use this. I was wondering if the markers run through the gri gri? I need to get a new rope next season and I'm looking for either a 60m or a 70m so let me know your opinion's on your fave too. I climb mostly sport and started trad this year. current I'm using a 10.5 or 6 (not really sure) Blue water 50m

I have not used it, but for trad and if you are doing serious, on-sight sport, a thinner rope might be better. I have a 9.8 sterling nitro that i love. Thinner runs through gear easier = less rope drag, and lighter for less hauling both on and off the rock. Get a 70m, you can do 100+ foot pitches, and can cut it when it gets worn.

the markers should run fine through a grigri. cant comment on the rope itself, though...cant say i've heard one way or the other about them.

I bought a Metolius Monster Rope 2-3 years ago. It was 10.2 mm, 60 meters. I twisted the core and had to cut the rope in half after only its second season of climbing. I would not buy Metolius ropes. The rope I believed was made by New England Ropes. My friend has the exact same rope, but it was branded as a New England Rope. I would recommend not buying a Metolius rope. They make good hard goods and climbing harnesses, but the rope I had sucked!

Lanex, the Chech company makes Metolius ropes. They are the best in the world (MY opinion) hands down. The lil tuffs stay substantially longer than everyone elses black marks (cause eventually those wash off) or the shit tape that Edelrid uses. Wish they were cheaper. My buddy Ujahn has a 6-7 year old Lanex he still uses for toproping, I was on it the other day and it still feels great. We use to use it for leading as we both liked it so much.
