I have never been able to understand that they can a have a vote for worlds most sexy people, and people like jeniffer lopez wins???
What the hell is that?
How can people be so blind that they think just because someone has a top 10 hit or is in a movie etc etc, that all of a sudden they are the sexiest?
I know LOTS and LOTS of people that are much more sexier than any of those people that are famous.

And even on mag covers and in ads. Sometimes there are the hottest chicks!

And to bring us back to that nsync thing... WHy do girls drool everytime a song like that plays on the radio, and then u hear OH i love pete and bill and frank and dickhead etc etc. How exactly are those guys more sexy than say ME??
I think it's the money!

just a rumor, though, I cannot confirm it. has anyone else heard this?

My personal favourite to date is how all of these girls would drool over those Hanson kids, but I couldn't find a single person, man or woman, who could tell at first sight if the band members were boys or girls (not exaggerating there). Either all of these girls were border line lesbians, or they were highly intuitive, or they were just fantasizing about an icon.

People like what you tell them to like, because liking what one likes on their own requires honesty and a spine... and most people seem to lack both in sufficient quantities (and though I do not feel I am one of those people, it is impossible tho wholly discount myself from this typecasting).

In all truth, human beings are the only species that seem to be turned on by mere icons. There are no pheremones, no interraction, just a nonsensicle image, and the ideas we associate with them.

Even if you take porno magazines; do those images turn you on? Are you attracted to the people in the magazine? I highly doubt it, afterall it's just paper and ink. What you associate with those images, and what they invoke in your imagination might do it for you (any image, or television broadcast, or voice recording), but to be attracted to the actual icon itself seems impossible to me.

i agree...

Highschool is a perfect example..

the "popular" kids..
the hot girls always went for the popular guys, even though the KNEW that the guys would treet them like total shit...
they didnt care "they were hot"...
*rolls eyes*

to alot of people, its all about appearence..
corse, they are extremely shallow, and the moment a hotter person comes along, they dump whoever they are with, for the better lookin one...

seriously...

and about the holywood topic, its true, these people are (most of the time) complete assholes, that only date people who will make them look better, and more famous. its sad...

very sad...

cheers!

Here's a good example.

Runway Models. I think they are about as grotesque as a woman can get, but that's just me.

Anyway, a recent study was done on models. In the 80s, models were (on average) about 7 percent lighter than the "average" woman. Meaning if the average woman was 5'5" and 120 pounds, the model was 5'5" and 112 pounds. Now, the average model is 17% lighter than the average woman. That would make her (based on the figures used above) just under 100 pounds. Sick!

I don't understand why women feel so pressured. It's got to be these f---ing magazines that pound this s--- into woman. Ugly clothes, too much make up, diets, creams, it can all go to hell. You are beautiful already. Take a look at the profile picks of Anne, Amber, Meg, Hillary, T (for example). Great bodies, they are in good shape. Now ask them to lose 20 pounds. They'd look like anorexic sticks. Ever see a runway model?

Case in point.

Ladies, be yourself. You ARE beautiful.

sadly, money runs America.

materialism clouds what is really important

superficiality reigns suppreme

more pills, less cures...

bigger houses, more broken homes...

....this is why i climb...to be away from all of that and to see the important acpects of life!

I won't reject a girl because she's a bit overweight (but she has to be able to be active outdoors), and I have no problems with a girl that's skinny (again so long as she's able to be active outdoors). If I love her, I love her, and though looks are important to me, it's not the physical features themselves that are important but how a girls character is expressed through them.

Case and point, ther was a girl in highschool who all the guys drooled over. She had a very pretty face and an amazing body (nowhere near over weight, but not sickly thin... and nice curves too) but no matter what I never found her attractive. It was the expression on her face (or lack thereof). She was cold, and you could see it in her eyes. Her expressions were dull and uninterested, at best she was capable of showing disdain (which was more expressive that the usual void gaze) and all of her looks could do nothing for that.

That's why most famous people really bother me... they're always wearing masks.
