I'd give it a miss and get 'The Self Coached Climber' instead if you're serious about learning movement skills. It seems like 'Climbing Games' is mostly gimmicks, and some of the advice about "hanging on straight arms" without a caveat about maintaining tension in the shoulder girdle could lead to shoulder/postural problems down the line.

...has gotten me hungry for some ice cream.

This game is fun!

In complete seriousness though, all the legitimate climbing gurus universally agree that the only training you really need to do is weighted pullups.

i haven't seen the book but having checked out the preview you posted (cool to see that, btw) i'm not convinced... good for making climbing fun for kids if they don't actually enjoy climbing, maybe, but i'm not sure how much it'd help an adult? it talks about a certain game teaching you x, but the self coached climber seems to take a more sensible approach, thoroughly discussing the mechanics of x and then having you test it on the wall. and a fair few of the games appear to serve no purpose.

and i'd be forced to disown anyone who suggested playing these games around me. honestly, do you want to bowl up to your local gym (or crag?) with a hula hoop and a balloon?
