I didn't know anything about climbing in CT until I checked out this thread. Ragged Mountain looks interesting!

I will be visiting CT mid-October and would like to climb in the Gunks for a couple of days if I can find partners. I wouldn't mind checking out Ragged Mountain or other climbing areas in CT, too, but it will probably have to be during the week (Oct 13-16).

Cheers!

Seeking climbing partner for Ragged Mountain on Sunday, Oct 18. I lead about 5.8 trad (HVS) but don't mind seconding all day. I just want to get out and climb in New England!

I'll be in Vernon, CT but will be arriving via Scotland so no rope, rack or car. Happy to chip in for gas.

Cheers,
Stephie

Sorry about that. I live in S.E CT and usually climb at Lantern Hill, Danielson, Chatfield Hollow. I mostly climb top rope but have done a few leads here and at Smith Rock, OR. (fantastic place) I climb at a <5.9 level. I went climbing 2 weeks ago at Lantern Hill. Rock was cold but it was still fun.

22 y/o Male from Trumbull, CT. About 6 months experience, have all equipment needed for setting up top rope climbs and doing sport climbing.

I am looking for anyone interested in doing any type of climbing. I have never done any trad climbing, but would love to learn. Will gladly climb with anyone of any level of experience as long as you can belay. I am free on weekends and will go anywhere within reasonable driving distance.

Just PM me if interested!

I think this is what I should do, just continue the thread on the original sticky...

I am new to CT. I just moved from 5 years in Denver. I am dying to get out, but havent found any people looking for partners at the local gym (Valhalla).

I really want to get to the gunks soon (read: this weekend)...

I have more gear than anyone needs on this coast. I have book, car the whole 9. I want someone who can hold their own, but am happy to lead the whole day if need be.

I know the gunks are crazy sandbagged so... I'm gonna say I can lead 5.9, no idea what I can follow here.

pm me or email at akpublicbox 'at' gmail

thanks.
Alex

I once climbed all over the Northeast, but moved away. If anyone would want to climb at Ragged or elsewhere over Easter, shoot me a PM or respond here.

My email address is available on this site.

Safe climbing to all,
Mike

Don't ice climb!-take a vacation to a sunny spot instead!

Hey do go to my old favorite haunt- climbing gym
(Go-Vertical ) In Stamford Ct?

I climbed with Nate Gold & Katie Brown
when they were teens,
they were couple back then and sweet as sugar!

My son and his buds used to climb there quite a bit. From what I understand, there were some pretty poor business practices that led to the demise. (Rumor, not personal observation.)
