I'd say it's the Sharp End and Committed.

The Grit scene gets old though. It's more a variant on highball bouldering anyway.

Onsight it is almost all trad but also looks in to the ethics of climbing and peoples takes on the different styles of climbing.

I may be biased, but Uncommon Ground is my favorite climbing movie (it's all Northeast climbing). It's not all trad, though. It has trad, sport, bouldering, and mixed.

The only problem with both E11 and Hard Grit is that while excellent films, I need either sub-titles or a translator to understand what the hell most of the folks in the films are saying.

First Ascent was good, better than Sharp End IMO.

I think my favorite trad vid bits are from Front Range Freaks though, the section with heidi wirtz redpointing the wasp, and that guy working Rough Roof in Eldo. Oh yeah, and topher donohue on lock of rages.

I didn't care for a lot of the other segments though. The gal bouldering in 1880s attire, wtf?

I think it's that straight downward angle that does it more than anything.. it's not like it's a big fall

Hannold's arete route in germany though.. holy fuck.. talk about having your shit together

Curt

I believe Honold free soloed that route on Progression. He also soloed Gia, after getting the onsight. Progression has that guy on the cover of Hard Grit doing the same route making the same move. Makes more sense now, thanks Curt.
