If you are wereing the same jacket for ten years of climbing the company will probably give you one for free monotary sponsership. Unless you are a real scumbag and talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Besides these companies have money coming out of there ears. On the thermafest tip those things are designed for sleeping in a portaledge. And to be used as a temp. barrier in the snow. They aren't worth carrying for sleeping on the ground. The different kind of pad is better(foam).

One option is to sew a camera bag and glue the old padding in with some contact adhesive to make a climbing camera bag. Some velcro and your speedy-stitcher make the flap. Sorry to interrupt the random spray - carry on.

Most outdoor companies that I have had experience with (including the one by whom I am currently employed) DO NOT have ""money coming out out there /their ears"

One of the reasons that you won't be able to afford a "puffy" jacket is because the price is being driven up by theft and misuse of warranties/return policies.

Trust me on that:-)

Insulation from wind inside outbuildings, under your tent where there is a tree root or corner of a rock that you cannot dig out.
