Clam, I'm laying tile in all three of our baths. Any tips? Did you lay right over linoleum? I know at least one had water damage so ill have to tear out subfloor trying to decide if I want subfloor+ concrete board or just subfloor.

NO on linoleum. If you are not laying in the basement, definitely lay down some of that concrete backer board. We should gchat or something for detailed beta. Tiling is kind of fun.

Supossed to be a beautiful weekend here. Two weekends ago I was running in white out conditions, today it's over 75.

Nathan is doing the drive up here instead of me heading home. The rock is better up here anyway, and now that I have an apartment all to myself (as opposed to living with Miss Dog Piss) him spending the weekend is much more enjoyable.

There is some interesting new sport climbing out here I'd love to get to, but I can't get anyone to go with me. They all want to go to the valley.

And I want a table that will be

and cut out the unnecessary. Right now I can only get the equivalent of item: color.

As it is, it looks like we will do the whole reno under 15k, which plus the purchase price of the house is 20K under what our 'max' was.

Though we won't do the whole 15k at once, we're starting with 11k and the rest will be new carpets, adding a wall, and redoing bathrooms. Unfortunately that will have to wait until we move in.

If you do just subfloor, you will have too much flex and the tile and grout will crack. You can do sub floor going one direction and 1/4 ply going the other on top of it. Will be strong enough not to flex and crack your tile and cheaper than concrete board.

BET's dead, hopefully everyone was out climbing.

Great weakend at the NRG. Went to some crowded spurt crags but I was still psyched, saw lots of friends, weather was perfect. Managed to re-RP a lot of one twos that I've done before, and even did a 12a slab which was an improvement with the LisPaul. It still swells up after every climb, and long approaches are a pain. Got on one new hard climb called Fuel Injector that is not going to go down anytime soon, and then fell at the final move of another manufactured chossheap. Good times.

A friend of ours just installed a stripper pole on his back patio, so we spent most of Saturday eve drinking margaritas and messing around on that. Then yesterday, Diogi's had a burrito eating contest for Cinco de Mayo, and both Jay and Joe were competing. Joe dominated it; ate over 2 lbs of a 5 lb burrito. He was double psyched, because a fat student of his who had just said his class was boring was also competing, and got his ass kicked. Def. fun times, I wish I could have stayed with the festivities a bit later.

Was awesome climbing with Lena and hanging with her kidlets, although apparently she has now declared on facespace that she hates the entire NRG. Oh, and Lena, both Matt and Cat got shut down on that move over the roof on "Hueco not Waco," too. They both used that terrible moving flake and screamed. I stayed off of it, after telling everyone they should have done it.

Nathan came up for the weekend. Amougst other things, he brought back my commuter bike so I could start riding to work again. Unfortunatly, he removed the saddle bags from it when he set it up on the trainer this winter and forgot to put them back on.

I dislike riding with a pack on my back. I'll do it when mtn biking with a water blader to make sure I drink (and not lose water bottles when I crash) but otherwise it's uncomfortable and makes my back hurt.

So I was going to hold off on the communting to work, but I decided to suck it up, toss all my stuff in the bullet apck I have and ride to work. I get here and you know, it really wasn't too bad with the pack. Go to the washroom, change, sit down to put on my safety shoes......and pull something in my back when bending over to tie them.

So I've been sitting here all morning trying to get it to relax. I want to make an emergency visit to the Chiropractor, but I only have my bike here (brillant!).

Otherwise the weekend was good. Sat I forgot my climbign shoes and had to go all the way home and back to the crag (making me 1.5 hours late to the cliff), but still had a rad day and go worked pretty good.

Yesterday I went to a local wall and did some traversing (trying to build up some endurence which I'm lacking right now). Nathan wasn't interested so he ran around checking out stuff. The area is a dump with a high school right there. There were these three big rubbermade bins so we started loading them up with garbage (mostly old water bottles with a few lawn ornaments here and there). These three kids walk up, obviously didn't see us and were talking smack about trashing the place. Nathan confronted them and then freaked out at us. Anyway, we finished gathering garbage and lugged it out (with them threatening to throw beer bottles at our heads). Good times.

We then went for a walk to check out another local crag. Good potential at this one. Nathan also bootied a draw off the only bolted line we found at the cliff.
