Hey all, the American Alpine Club's campground at the New River Gorge is now charging fees: $7/night, $6 if you're an Access Fund member, $5 if you're an AAC member. No pay station yet, but the host (me, woohoo!) will be walking the premises and shaking y'all down.

Thanks!

Does the AAC recognise other national mountaineering organisations for reduced fees as well? e.g. BMC or ACC?

The good news is that if you don't want to pay, Cammy is easy to outrun.

They do recognize the ACC. Not sure about the BMC.

That's good to know, as I'm an ACC member.

We have a 1 1/2 year old daughter that will camp with us.

At what age do we have to pay the $7 for her?

Also, if we arrive late, can we just set up camp wherever?

Thanks!

Are there spots to hang a Hammock for camping?
