Dear Normans,
I know it's been a while since I have stood at your pulpit (keg) and I have to say that my sabatical (war) has been a great experience to enlighten me to what a cool group of Motherfu--ers you all are. Thanks for all the support and e-mails during the last 6 months. I feel that it has been forever since I have played the role of Santo Diego and just been able to relax. Lest we at home take life too lightly, we need to remember that we could always be in a bad place in a matter of days and lest we at war take ourselves too seriously, we need to remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Having taken a few moments to look back at some of the threads I have missed, I see that my loving wife has stood up for us warrior types and that as to be expected, feeling around this community about the war are mixed to a great degree. Don't you get it? That means that this freedom and democracy thing works. It never bothered me to see people protesting the war. That's why I put on a uniform every day. I defend your right to tell us we're wrong. I also defend my right to disagree with you. Nobody wanted the guys coming home to be treated like they were in Vietnam, least of all, the guys coming home. I also don't expect a ticker tate parade. I just want to get off a plane, hug my wife, kick my dog, eat a steak, and climb something. Some of the topics got pretty heated for good reasons and some stayed more center of the road. All I have to say is that I am glad we can all be a part of a community that can openly discuss different points of view wighout going to jail.
Now, on to business, if you became a Norman after november of last year, make yourself known. I would like to meet you. I'm sure that the old guy (oldandintheway) and St. Steven (wildtrail have made some changes whilst I have been away so give me some time to catch up and hopefully I will be back home in time to pull a trip with you all this year.

Well, I'm an "old" Norman, but I'll happily nominate both Rob and Troy to the Society. I think Rob could use a dose of us (or at least our booze and a good whipped cream fight) right now, and Troy is, well, Troy. :mrgreen:

I miss you and I hope you'll be back soon! We need to get the Normans back into check. Since your absence, the Norman Church has been a bit dilapidated. It's kind of scattering in the wind. Not good. Not good at all. Plus, MOB isn't around much any more either.
