Thanks for your reply Andrew! Pics would be great as well as any other beta on Ecuador or other climbing down in South America. I'm trying to plan a trip down to Sur de America sometime soon, and if nothing else, I really want to go to Ecuador.

I added quite a bit to the routes database about climbing in ecuador. the rock mostly sucks there, but there is some decent climbing down by riobamba. the mountaineering and trekking is excellent. any specific beta you want about ecuador? i haven't climbed everything there, but i've spent a fair amount of time there.

HEy! i dont know if this is a little late, but i am from Ecuador. i live in the US now. Let me know what u need i might be able to put u in contact with someone down there. The rocodromo is a pretty good place. Try climbing Pasochoa or Puntas peaks, they have some nice rocks. If you want to hike try Corazon, Pichinca or Imbabura, they have some awesome sights and they are not that hard. If you really want to get the most out of it, try climbing Cotopaxi(highest active volcano in the world), Chimborazo(closest place onm earth to the sun), Cayambe or Atacazo....Ecuador has a great variety and you do not need a lot of technique, just be ready for long walks.

Hey, everybody should go see the rocodromo in Quito, they just built a new wall right by it, its amazing! Now it costs one dollar to get in, and only 20 cents if you are a member of any andinismo club. I will post some pics soon. [ Este Mensaje fue editado por: nalo el 2002-09-09 16:49 ]
