Throughout your uses of the Anasazi-Velcro, what have been its pros and cons?

This of course, is an excellent gym shoe, although I am looking into purchasing a shoe, more specifically built for the rock (preferably a lace-up). Thus, someone suggested I look into the Anasazi-Lace-ups. Any pros and cons of this particular shoe as well?

I have a pair of AV. They're really comfortable, nice grip, toe box feels nice, not too cramp... the cons, i can't think of any right now..
I think AV and Lace-up would probably give you the same satisfaction, but maybe lace-up have better grip

Both the lace ups and the velcros are awesome. Both edge well and the rubber is a really nice smearing rubber too. I dont know of any cons except for they arent free. If they were free everyone would have a pair.

Because they're softer, velcros grab on steep rock a bit better than the lace-ups do. Consequently, lace-ups edge a bit better, due to that extra stiffness. I guess it all depends on where you climb then.

Regarding the Velcros...

Pros:

Edge quite well, though not quite as well as a lace-up.

5.10 Stealth rubber is the stickiest.

Velcro = easy on, easy off

Pointy toe good for front pointing and in thin cracks

Don't need to be sized too tight, for some reason

Cons:

Marginal in jam cracks

Don't smear as well as slippers (but they're ok)

Performance: Great, awesome, super-sticky
Cons: Price, price, price

I've used Anasazi Velcros for the last six years, but couldn't afford a new pair. Tried the Tenaya Sapiens/Scratch from www.barrabes.com. Half the price and very good. They are knock-offs of the Anasazis. Not quite as sticky, but excellent for $50.00.

For those of you who do not know what I'm describing when I say Anasazi Laceups I mean this:

Seeing as that didn't work, here's the address for a pic, and some opinions of it:

I've always preferred the velcro, but I've heard a number of other climbers say that the lace-ups fit better. The Anasazi has been the best shoe I've had, amongst about a dozen different brands and models.

That is up until I bought a different brand from http://www.barrabes.com. The Tenaya brand, Scratch model is a perfect replica of the much more expensive FiveTen Anasazi Velcro. The price from barrabes.com, including shipping, was about $60, and I got 'em in 3 days! Tenaya does have a lace up version, too, and a slipper that is like the Mocasym from FiveTen. The rubber is from Vibram, so its a major brand of rubber that other shoe makers use.

The Anasazi or Scracth is lined with a cloth liner, and is made of man-made "leather", so they do not stretch nearly much as real leather slippers (e.g. the Mocasym). I recommend them HIGHLY for outdoor and indoor climbing. I've heard different store clerks describe a shoe as an "indoor" shoe, and then I see big-name climbers, in photos, wearing them outdoors, so any distinction between indoors and outdoors is, I think, only in the minds of marketers and uninformed clerks.

Check out http://www.barrabes.com for Tenaya shoes!

yeah, all i've got to say is that 510 makes some of the best shoes, no doubt about that, espescially with stealth rubber. And so, AV and lace-ups are both awesome.. And if anyone disagree with me, find a different topic to talk about

they are both about the same, and they are the best shoes made, in my opinion, although like previous posts said, they are painful in jam cracks.
