Where is our (pick one) favorite/ most-hated wall doctor? Did he go rc.com cold turkey? Has he a new moniker? Has fame and fortune gone to his head? Is he doing hard time as a result of his nefarious activities? Inquiring minds, and all that….

Okay, I'll ask it: What happened? Regardless of love/hate status, PPTP was a frequent visitor here. I'm curious as to where he went! Andy

i'll take a wild guess...he moved to rock and ice, is paid, and no longer is able to "help" us get up walls any more through the internet. Now that I think about it, this is great news! 1)Pete will now be properly edited and we won't have to sift through graphs and graphs of extra crap to read about some new trick to replace what grizzled hardmen have been doing for decades. 2) Now we can tear up what Pete says instead of having to print out message boards and doing it. It will be glossy paper now, but all the more satisfying when you make that first tear. 3)He'll no longer be able to dupe newbies into doing all his work for him to get up El Cap under the assumption that they'll be learning and safe due to his alias. Way to go pete

In reply to: In reply to: Ask Pete or Trevor via Private Message. Won't the RC.com rug get lumpy from all the stuff being swept under it? Nothing is swept under the rug. He's no longer a member. Period. Ed

In reply to: Then why is his profile still available and still ranked #4 in the Top Users on the front page. His content is still available, but he won't be making future contributions. As for the ranking on the front page, I'm fairly certain that hasn't been accurate for quite some time. I think it's bug-related and just isn't very high on the priority list to fix. Ed

Wow.. I've opened a can of worms. Well now … cat.. proverbial bag.. … ya know? The full story is bound to come out….. Thing is.. he seemed to be a kinder, tamer Pete in recent months? Plus, I thought he'd finally been housetrained not to hump on the legs of the underage woman? Well, I’ll miss him. He was a good provocateur and curmudgeon.

Regardless of whether or not he's still a member, I hope the site keeps his big wall info pages up. Once you get through all the flashing colors and multi-click bold text, there really is some valuable info in there.

In reply to: Well now … cat.. proverbial bag.. … ya know? The full story is bound to come out….. It might. Pete has his ways. But it's largely nobody's business but Pete's and the site administration's, and there isn't much benefit to be gained from launching a noisy inquisition. I would encourage people who are dying to know to get over it- don't PM Trevor or Adam, that's nosy, tacky, and bad form. If you have a stake in it, as it were, you know who you are and you already know the reasons behind Pete no longer being a member of this site. If you're in Pete's inner circle, he may have already shared it with you. If you're none of the above, well, have fun with your conspiracy theories  Pete's info will remain for those who want to read it, learn from it, line their cockatoo cages with it, wrap it around their 40s, whatever.

In reply to: and there isn't much benefit to be gained from launching a noisy inquisition. Well just the idea of what gets people banned so that others don't commit the same crime. We do live in a republic were people are used to a public airing of dirty laundry, don't we?

" Where is PTPP? In custody? " Curt Chuckle. Actually Curt- I’ve traded a couple of emails tonight with Pete to get the fully story. The official word from him is ”he has been caving in Belize”. Wonder who’ll get kicked off rc.com in ’04?

The rakings on the FP are accurate in terms of who has added content, as all one does here has apoint value, and it is tabulated daily... He has contributed wuch in the last 3 years, so he ranks high. As the TOS states, we handle issues like this "privately", for the benifit of that user not us, we get called "censors", "nazis", and the like. We are not going to offer someone up publically just to justify any actions taken. Privately does not mean publically posted on the Net for those who crave drama and gossip.
