Well, I'm new to this thread so I'm not going to read all 30 pages... however, I just got back from a three-month climbing trip in Australia and am looking for partners as I, hopefully, continue to climb in the States. I'll be driving through Colorado on my way to Yosemite, and I'm hoping to do a few climbs in Eldo and the Black Canyon, a TON of climbs in Utah & Red Rocks, then J-Tree and the Valley... Anyone want to hook up for some of that? I have a full rack and vehicle. Leading 5.11+ trad... Josh :D yeah!

Well if the weather looks like it will be nice Derek and I will be there. If it's marginal or worse we will skip it since Derek is coming off a chest cold. Of course that means I'm going to probably be sick next week. (popping Vitamin C and making a deal with the devil to stay healthy)

Hey Guys! I might drive out there just to say hello. I'm probably going to go "under contract" today for a house in the stapleton area. I have to stay in cell range all day. I might sneak out there for just a bit to say "helloooooo". Talk to you all later, JD

ahhh screw it, I'm leaving from Denver now. Following a stop at fourbucks for a coffee I'll be down there... worst case I can take a look around before everybody shows up. BTW, driving the wife's truck, dark gray Jeep Grand Cherokee. Sun just came up over Denver... weather looks resonable. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/80231?lswe=80231&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared KT

I'll give you a call on your cell phone to confirm. Weather in Denver is Sunny, high ceiling (thin, transparent cloud layer) and 30 degrees. Should warm up fine I think. -Tim

I'll be up possibly with some others but wont get there till around 9:30 - 10:00. I'll call you Tim if I cant find the place but you give good direction so Im sure I'll find it. How close is the climbing area to the parking? Thinkg of bringing my dog, but he will sleep in the backseat.

Jeez, guys, the temps are still in the 30's right now (7:30am). I like to feel my fingers when climbing. Anyone for a "crack of noon" start in the 9am to 10am window for CCC's Highwire, then maybe off to Highlander or Wall of the 90's?

Well. It seems I might be paying the extra cash for the BRC soon. My regular climbing buddy is flaking out on me like crap sandstone, and it's far more economical to bike down to the BRC instead of driving 60 miles round trip to R&J North. If anybody is interested in meeting there regularly, let me know. I'm really flexible as to when I can be there. Not sure about any outdoor climbing anytime soon. Work is continuing to be stupid, and my weekend schedules are unreliable. Hope you guys are having fun. -Josh

The weather Gods smiled on our humble crew yet again today. When I left the springs it was cold and spitting snow - wasted day I thought. Got to CCC and the sun was bright and warm and I got alittle sunburned. When I got back to the springs, cloudy and cold. Blech! Got to climb with hstewart for the first time! Thanks for the dueling leads. Mainers rock! Did my hardest lead to date. And got to follow two .10d's. Im running out of excuses for not leading at that level. Kyle I might ber interested in Golden or CCC on thursday. Pencil it in. Going to Shelf on Tuesday if anyone is interested. Later Y'all! Reno it was nice to meet you, maybe we will rope up next time! Neph - Thanks for saving my a$$!

It was a fine day for climbing in the Front Range today. Clear Creek Canyon had temps in the 60s, with lots of sunshine, and a soft breeze that kept sweat to a minimum, yet didn't send a chill to the bones. Had a good time climbing: Warmed up on a 5.9 face (next to Stone Cold Moderate, but I don't know the name,) did a 5.7 line (Nickel and Dime) with Kyle, flailed and dangled on a .10b (unknown name, on the Wall of Justice,) with Tim (apparently, I wasn't supposed to pull the roof,) then up a quick 5.9, and off to a final .10b/c (Via Comatose Amigo.) Good stuff. Then to the Buffalo Rose for a plate of wings, jalapeno poppers, potato skins, chicken nuggets, and onion rings, all washed down with pitchers of Avalanche beer. Thanks for the good times, gang.

Sorry we missed you guys at the Rose. We actually ended up across the street. After circling around and hearing that the other place was closed, we went straight for a beer.

yes, it was a beautiful day, and i have a nasty sunburn to prove it. dave - you missed my shining lead of the day. i went back and led that line with the bouldery start. thought i was going to bite it before the first bolt, then discovered the glorious three finger pocket. put it on your list for the next ccc outing! tim - we tried to find you guys in golden, but jeremy forgot your directions, and then we heard that the pub was closed on sunday, so we grabbed a beer at that place across from buffalo rose.

Hey everyone, Just thought I would let everyone know Larry and I made it back from Zion alive. we actually got back to Keystone Fri. night about midnight, it just wouldnt quit raining. It was a crappy trip from the get go. First my transmission went out in idaho springs then, it pretty much rained or snowed all the way there, then we couldent find a place to camp so we just pulled to the side of the road and slept behind some boulders (without bivies or tent) and it rained all night. got up the next morning (soaked) and drove around the park, got some breakfast and found a laundymat. the weather looked like it was going to clear so we decided try something on the organ ( I cant remember the name) since it was only 4 pitches instead of the 8 or 9 on spaceshot. Larry lead the first pitch and I jugged up, he started on the second and got up to a big roof just as it started raining again. We were going to hang out there until it stopped but then the lightening started so larry downclimbed to me and we rapped off and just left for CO. After we got off that climb we were walking up the road to catch the shuttle bus, we were looking at and talking about prodigal sun when we see this huge cluod of dust explode about 3/4 of the way up, a few seconds later a loud bang and rumble. Apparently a huge boulder came off the top, hope no one was under that climb at the time. Hope you all had a better weekend than us, from what I read it sounds like you did. Looks like I'm going to be out of commission for a while until I get the truck fixed, unless I can hitch a ride. Highabove I'm going to give you a call tonight to get the details about tomorrow. Rob

Here I sit Monday morning, sunburned to all hell and slightly dehydrated from the warm, sweaty day Sunday. Off came the fleece the second we roped up! I climbed in a t-shirt and thin long pants all day. Many a manly man was topless in the hot sun, clipping those bolts. Jeremy and Holly: Did you see the two notes on the door of Golden Brewery mentioning we went to Buffalo Rose? I didn't know the brewery was closed on Sunday, those pikers. In any case, it was good climbing wit youse guys.

I wouldnt spend more than a day at the garden. You should climb there once just cause its so unique. But an hour and a half in either direction and you'll hit some of the best climbing in the state (from my newbie perspective) PM me when you are getting close, I live in CO Springs.
