Tendonitis related to being out of shape?

I was pulling an interesting bouldering problem today and I started feeling a stiff feeling in my left ring finger and pinky. For a while I've had this problem, but it's been pretty managable. The problem is, it seems to be travelling the whole length of my forearm now. I spent the next two hours stretching it and massaging and icing and what have you.

I am totally unaware of what's going on with my body in general and I distrust doctors so I don't know what it is. I guess it could be tendonitis, but I've had a full week's rest and this is the second day I've climbed since then and I haven't really been pushing myself.

So, since I've been off for a little bit, I am wondering if it's possible that those tendons are just sore because I'm building them up, or what? My understanding is that tendonitis is just repetitive muscle strain so it doesn't seem to fit, but I dunno. Help?

Okay, let's add to this: the pain has now reached my shoulder and is pretty intense. Kept me out of a bouldering competition and took four aspirin to stop. THAT can't be tendonitis, could it?

..if its anything like i had..

take a heap of shark cartelage (like 2 tablets during mealtimes) or glucosamine for as long as it goes away, stop climbing for about 2 weeks, then get back into it gradually... ...(oh, yeah, and call me in the morning
..if it makes you feel better, the pain should go past your shoulder..
..but if you keep climbing on it, you can do permanet damage..

...your putting your tendons through too much stress, they have to strengthen first..

Sounds like you need to see a doctor. You definitely should not climb again until this is resolved. I'd say that you have the beginning of a significant injury and will need to take at least several weeks off from climbing (maybe several months). You need to treat tendinitis early; otherwise, it can end your climbing career.

Simple~Go to an orthopedic. He could say what it is. And heads up. Tendonitis is an overuse syndomyn. Not underuse.

Just see a doctor. If you distrust him, get a second opinion, just you can't really diagnose a problem over the net. Did you warm up before bouldering and stretch because if you didn't that could be the problem
