I’m planning on visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee and it would be great to find some good climbing near there. I would however go out of my way to climb some place really great in Scotland. Any recommendation on where great sport climbing and bouldering can be found will be appreciated. Thanks

Bonus points for good bouldering near to good distilleries! sorry automaticman, I can't help but would like to hear suggestions, too.

Hi automaticman, I'm living in Edinburgh just now, so hopefully I should be able to provide a few pointers... will you have access to a car?

We'll be renting a car for a few days for the purpose of checking out the country side and finding something to climb.

Automaticman, I could send you a massive list of top class venues (there are dozens), but for a good summary, try looking at the routes database and asking on the forums here: http://www.scottishclimbs.com Folks are pretty helpful and bound to give good suggestions. Just say what kind of grades you're looking for, but remember we use french and british grades here, not V and 5. numbers! My username's "niggle", I'll keep an eye out for you.

How about the best boulders and sport climbs (only able to bring limited gear on trip), and will have access to a car.
