Rob, you know I'm right there with you on those 5.5's, 6's, 7's and 8's. 8^) Wish it wasn't gonna rain. Gotta pick mom up around 3:00 at the hospital, and I COULD actually climb after that, but not if the thunder and rain come in as predicted. I'm ALMOST considering going to the gym and *gasp* ...bouldering

Yeah, looked even better IRL. We were camping just east of the crest, around 10,000 feet. Frost on the meadows at dawn, big views all around. I was cheered to notice that some of the routes I took Leslie up decades ago have been graded R or R/X in new guides. We didn't know about R in those days, just that sometimes you had better not fall. She was really brave, I see now. And they serve Espresso at the pass these days -- on a frosty alpine morning, that's a nice touch. cheers, L

Wow. Larry, unlike my comedic awesomeness, your pics and experience actually are so. maybe someday. Maybe I'll win mega millions. Maybe I'll get picked for the first manned mission to Mars. Chad, what are ya doing tomorrow, friday, after work? can you play hooky a bit? Shane and I are headed back to Purgatory after work, from like, 4:30 on. Pie, where you been? Come the F out to the Chasm, dog...Julia, you too...

Jake so far the weather is looking cooperative. I'm going to try to get there by 4:30. Shane and I closed the joint wed night, I pulled my anchors at 7:30. By 8 it was dark enough to turn on the headlights.

Rob, not tonight. Shutting down at 2:00 for our annual Company BBQ/Pool Party at the VP's house. Attendance, although not officially, is kinda mandatory. :? Especially since I blew it off last year for a CBQ at QQ. Boss this year was "So you're coming this year, RIIIIGHT???

In reply to: Wow. Larry, unlike my comedic awesomeness, your pics and experience actually are so. maybe someday. Maybe I'll win mega millions. Maybe I'll get picked for the first manned mission to Mars. Thanks, Rob (& all). It's a strange trip to revisit ancient climbs, and find out how new experiences match my hazy old memories. Dike Route, for example, I led back in May 1971. This week, stickier shoes and bigger bolts compensated for the fact that I was fit then, and broken-down now. Still, on the recent ascent I couldn't help noticing runouts that had made less impression before. http://im1.shutterfly.com/...ee40d703ce0000002610http://im1.shutterfly.com/...ee40dd03c40000002610

gymnastc (and anyone else who wants to go)... I'll be at Crow Hill by 5:00 or so. Not sure what I'm going to do... may just set up a TR or two. Maybe on Karen's Folly/Post Road or Thinline. gymnastc, do you have a rope? sublimeclimb, are you in? I'll be up for some trad leads next week, but I doubt I'll do any today. I'm rather sore from too much climbing this week. We'll see though... maybe just being there will motivate me to jump on the sharp end :) Kevin

ERic, yeah I checked the weather and saw a thunderstorm watch/warning for worcester and middlesex counties until 7pm tonight The Chasm is right in worcester county...but the chance of precip is between 30 and 50 % so we could very likely dodge that bullet. I'm gonna go anyway. If I'm not at the Lover's leap area, I'll be at the next facec down past the overhang with the sign that sayss "Devil's Pulpit"
