hey all,
i'm going to buy another set of nuts and i wanted to hear your opinions on a few types. i've talked to my friends but everyone has different feelings on the subject; i figured it wouldnt hurt to post.
anyway...i'm looking at buying hb offsets, the larger sizes and then the dmm peenuts for the smaller sizes. i've always used standard nuts like bd's. i'm climbing in yosemite, tuolomne,....basically granite if that helps. in contrast what do you guys think about the dmm curved nuts?

The HB offset nuts can not be beat for Valley climbing, they fit so well in pin scars.
I highly recommend them.

have a look at metolious curved nuts.... they work well for me, and fit flaring cracks..... but probably not as well as hbs

Have a look at the Blue Water nuts if you can. I saw them in one of their catalogues. They are triangular in shape at the end, quite different from other models. Thinking of getting some myself.

Go the DMM Wallnuts. They are not that expensive, and have a wide range of placement positions.

If you go to www.rockandice.com and look in the gear swap, you can pick up a set of Blue Water Coco nuts on clearance! i just bought some and they are AWESOME!!! Really cheap too! I think you get like 8 for $30 or so?

Another vote for the HB offsets. I find myself using my Black Diamond stoppers less and less since adding a coupla sets of HB's to my rack.

Metolius Curved nuts are great. They bite into the rock like no other nut I have used. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

felixthecat, If your climbing in the valley or toulumne, HB offsets are the
TITZ ON A RITZ. I carry a standard set plus the HB alloys (aluminum, large sizes). I also wouldn't think of doing an aid climb without my HB brass offsets (micro).
