Okay...on the lighter side of things (sort of);

I was out climbing, and had me a nice cold mountain dew. Went to chug it, and noticed something in my mouth along with the drink. Spit it out, and it was bee, and it stung my tongue. It hurt, and kind of swelled up. Depressing night. I had to ice my freaking tongue for a few hours. Weird.

Anyways...just don't drink bees.

Dont drink the bee's, theres stingers on the bee's, dont drink the bee's. Oh wait, that is not how the song goes. Hey PianoMahnn, I am going to find you one of those cool things from the 80's that goes over the top of your pop can to keep bee's out. Those things were great, but you never see them anymore. Funny stuff, kinda. Still it didnt stop you from climbing the next day, just made the nice quiet evening by the fire with a certain someone pretty boring. Oh well, you have a good story atleast, and one you can tell. haha Always check the can.

I got stung on the tongue once, wasn't drinking, but riding my bike home from school. The worst thing was being locked out of my house that afternoon when I got home, that was really long pain, without ice!

Thas why I dont bring soda along on a climb. I prefer water from my Platapuss, then its just the ants that crawl on it.
I recall that when I'd go fishin and had a soda the yellow jackets loved to climb inside.
Perhaps a cover for the soda, like a cat food can typ cover, keep the bees and dirt out.

We went climbing yesterday and some locals came by wanting us to tie them in on the top-rope so they could get the honey out of the rocks. they went up and got the honey and it was good. But part of the wax was full of larva, which one of the men squoze and produced a waterry like juice...he said that it has viagra-like effects.
so...dont drink the bees, I guess, unless thats what your after.

  A thought occurs to me, because bees are the devils minions and I'm sure we could find a way to pollinate things without them if they were eradicated.

Take one of those bee catching donut shaped containers that you fill with sugar water, the one's bees can get in but then they can't escape the sugar water. It might draw more bees but it'd at least draw them away from your belayer!

I think I might just try that...if you see someone running from the crags with a swarm behind him, then it backfired horribly, do not attempt!

And with a plastic bottle, you can put the top back on, when empty use it for water, and you won't leave the can behind when you find bees in it!

Here's a quick Bee tip:

Get to know a nice little weed called Plaintain (Plantago major, I think). Its way common and grows most places that people go in the US, and is native to Europe (though I don't know where it grows there.)

If you get stung by a bee or wasp grab a plantain leaf, wash it off if you have water, chew it up to get it goey and put it directly on the sting. It draws the venom out and neutralizes it.

I'm not sure it helps the reaction if you are allergic to stings, but maybe if you get it quick.

Take care,
Chris
