Updated June 2016:
I live in the flatlands of Northeast Florida, but for seven years I did a monthly climbing trip to various crags in the Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina mountain belt around the Southeast. I
I invented a belay device for doing roped solo leads, but I didn't climb from 2008 until this month. I am now 66, fully retired, and fully healthy. I am kayaking, race-walking 12 miles per week, and traveling as often as I can.
My MountainPics.net site will link you to my current Facebook galleries.
I returned to the Edge Rock Gym this month and renewed my membership. I tried a 5.5 in street shoes and sent it. One route in 8 years and it felt great. I came back a couple days later in my climbing shoes and sent a 5.6.
Climbing is much better for me than running or excessive walking, much less boring, but more costly. We shall see!
