Very durable mine has sustained abuse and I had to change the lens cover (happy it was available and cheap).
I found one downsides to it.
It uses 3 "AAA" batteries and they only come in packs of two four or six...

Compact, light, durable, and long-lasting light and battery life. Does not move up and down (would be nice) and a little pricey, relatively, but a good basic unit. Recommended.

The tikka is an awesome light to have with you cragging or backpacking. It can help you off a climb and down a short trail to your car or illuminate your cooking or reading at camp. The LED light quality is nice enough that sometimes I forget I'm wearing it. Others' complaints that it doesn't adjust angles are well founded, but not important when you consider that the trade-off is likely the tikka's super light weight. Battery and bulb life is amazing too. I change the batteries only once or twice a year, and I use my tikka a lot.
Look for it on sale, scoop it up, you'll love it.

This is THE headlamp to buy. It's totally sweet - awesome brightness, battery time, etc, etc....pitch out the extra ten bucks for the deluxe version if you've got money burning a hole in your pocket. Otherwise it's about the best 25 dollars you can spend on camping gear.
