These things are pretty darn cool. I was skeptical at the claim of being able to fit 3 different sized cracks. I was expecting maybe a mm or less between crack sizes on one nut. But NO! The difference doens't seem like much, but it is plenty to jsut rotate the nut and get that perfect placement, instead of settling for jsut making it stick. The mono cables on the smaller sizes are nice for squeezing it into a tight crack, and the teardrop insets on the sides are great for fitting it in solid. The only thing I would worry about is that some of the thin sides on them (each position has a wide side and a thin side opposite it) may put alot of force on softer rock, crystals, or imperfect placements. As usual, proper care should avoid a less than safe placement.

These buggers are huge! They're light for thier size too. I coudln't live without them. I use them year round, and have never had any problems at all. They clip easy, dont freeze up (not yet anyways...hey, ya never know) and they're large enough to clip with a gloved finger in the basket. The sling end is shaped well to keep them where they're supposed to be, and I have to say it again, they're huge! Just to see how much I could stuff into one, I squeezed 35 nuts, 4 cams, 6 slings, 2 oval 'biners, and a nut tool. I woudln't recommend doing this experiment though, It took forever getting the stuff back OFF of it ;).

The only downside is that thier physical size is big enough, and the shape is just such, that in certain circumstances they could orient themselves into an unfavorable position against the rock. It's never happened to me though, and as long as you use common sense and good judgement, it shoudln't happen to you either.

Not bad. Not great. I've got the normal sizes up to a 4 or 5 or so. Sizes seem to be inconsistant with most others out there, but I dont really pay attention to sizes anyways. The aluminum is softer than the bigger names (BD, WC, Met) which means they scratch/deform more, but it also means that in sketchy placements they bite into the rock well. All around not bad as a supplement to other nuts.

These nuts are 99% exact copies of BD stoppers, but way cheaper. They're color coded too! (Stoppers are as well now, I guess, but mine are old and silver) The edges of the nuts are a bit different from BD's, but barely. I'm gonna buy a few sets of these when I get around to it. Can't have too many nuts, I like BD's best, and these are nearly identical, so why not save myself some cash?

Oh baby. I love my tricams. My tricams love me. But back to real life...They're great. I've got two of each up to 3. Lighter than cams and with practice, easy to place. They hold tenaciously without giving up in places you coudln't dream of putting other forms of pro. Cleaning them once weighted, and especially fallen upon, takes practice, but isn't really as hard as people say. It's all about getting used to them. No, they're not as dumb easy to use as cams, but well worth the investment in time and initial frustration.
