It's expensive, but the wirelock and smooth nose has to be my favorite smoothly locking biner out there. It may not be the best for all applications considering the one end is rather small. The wire also has a half twist in it that can make clipping much easier at some angles and much harder at others due to the way it makes the rope want to slide one way or the other. If cost isn't an issue it's my favorite wire gate biner and if I had the "bling" I'd definitly buy more of them. Perhaps the nicest biner out there aside from the petzl spirit. Just do what I did and order a wirelock quickdraw and try it out and if your like me you'll find yourself wanting more!

Bomb-Proof rope! I hated it when my rope wore out and she sheath was hashed! So I did some reseach and got one of these. Just check out the site and read though the technical info for several minutes and you'll why sterling ropes and especially the marathon series ropes are so nice! (50% thicker sheath!) I would recommend a smaller marathon for some activities (like if you just sport climb) and especially if weight is an issue.

Smooth, smooth, smooth. Standard tube device. You can sum it up in two words: Standard...Smooth. No complaints other than a few bucks more can get you something with a lot more function, features, and stopping/slowing power. I used one for years and now I use a B-52 but, I'd imagine that if you got something the only way you could do worse is to get something that wasn't nice to your rope like this one is. It's reliable, cheap, simple, but as stated in other reviews...obsolete.

I haven't tried all the things that this device can be used for. But, I had been using a standard black diamond ATC and this is much better if you want more control, bite, or friction. I was doing some rappelling from just one strand of rope and this worked much better. I after a while I even started making my partner belay me with it instead of his standard ATC because it's much easier to hold a fall with. You can also put the rope in two different ways for different amouts of friction and bite. It's as nice to your rope as anything can be and that's also why I give it a five. If you want to fly down your rope when you rappell and not have any added bite or stopping power then don't get this. Price: I got mine on some deal or sale or something, but a few bucks more for this rather than something else is well worth it!

Great rubber, nice features, I can rely on friction more than I can with any other shoe I've tried! However they are somewhat soft soled and I found edging to be at times difficult and painful. If your looking for extra friction then get them for sure! Just avoid small pointy places because these things sometimes felt like a rubber sock! So freak'n grippy! They hook very well, as the name implies. and the top of your foot has rubber on it as well which can be useful for doing some wierd stuff and especially for jaming it in cracks sideways! (oh and I have wide and short feet and they fit better than any other shoe I've tried!)
