OMG i have seen the light. i dunno why i'm so freaked about the coolness of a belay device, but in comparison to what i used to use it lightyears ahead of everything else in all fashions. only problem is biner selection. you absolutly gotta use a round stock HMS type biners for it to operate smoothly as an autoblocker.

nice clean cut pack. easily hold harness, shoes, hat, gloves, parka, trad rack, water, snacks and a rope draped over the top sinched down with the top side compresion straps. big enough to hold a days worth of trad crag gear and small enough so that you arn't inclided to overpack. i like the single daisy chain so i can keep my camera, water and shoes clipped to the outside. wears comfy and holds the weight of a heavy rack/rope well.

when compairing this harness to yates shield, i would choose the shield, but it was short notice and a shop had the big wall locally so i picked it up and have happily dangling in this harness ever since and now that i own it i won't upgrade to a shield until i wear this thing out. i think its going to take a LONG time to wear out :) super comfy, nicely featured, built like a battle tank.

This yates biner is by far the best locker i think money can buy. to my knowedge its the only autolocking keynose biner on the market. to top it off, its stronger and lighter than 90% of the competition. i've swapped them into place for all of my lockers including on the ends of my daisy's for aiding and regularly use them in TR, sport, trad, aid and industrial ropped access and rescue situations. to find them on yates website you need to look in the rescue products, they really should start marketing these more for climbing and they are hard/impossable to find in a local store. i bought mine at moosejaw, they got 20 in the day before and i bought all 20.
