Fabulous--I try not to be a brand whore, but BD is absolutely great. I have some of these and love the way they feel--not the lightest (I have some super light weigh trango wiregates, but re-designed them to be more like this) but definately the nicest feeling ones I have used. BD did a great job on the Hotwire

I think these are great--they fit the axiom that if you pay a litte more you get a little more. I was belaying/using a Trango classic screwgate and upgraded to these. Talk about buttah!

I've paired mine w/ the Gri-Gri, it si fantastic for that. With the broad upper and the tight lower, the Gri-Gri fits perfectly. No struggling, just slip it on, spin the gate shut and go. Plus it is cool anno--makes me think back to the early 90's when everything was pink and purple anno!

I absolutely love mine--It's easy to use for multiple functionality, even TR. It is solid, will last for years (no cables to fray like on the ATC) I did have to adjust my bleaying style a tad for leading, coming from an ATC and all, but no biggie. The trade off is a much better tool.
I would definately recommend it to you--add it to your gear!

Nice belay device, I ahve had no problems w/ it, feeding on lead is just a matter of squeezing the camming device open and feeding the rope out. Thought I wonder at people's potential laziness factor, the laziness factor could be applied to just about any bit of gear. Overall, solid equipment, beautifullty crafted, will last for years.
