2 out of 5 stars Clean and Jerk

I consider this the hardest 5.10 I have climbed at Jtree to date. Miramonte’s guide discusses a “bouldery and run out start” which is obviously the crux of the climb. A crash pad would be handy on this one. There are a couple of horizontal placements including a C4#2 down low that semi protects the 2nd and 3rd moves. Once in the crack above, it is strenuous, but enjoyable hands and fingers to the roof. The FA version goes right which is sort of a sliding chimney deal. Best to bring the 2nd up on this one and scramble down climbers left.

4 out of 5 stars Tough

I like pumpy, steep stuff but this was really hard (much harder than the 10d around the west face). Think I did some sections wrong but this still felt very hard for the grade. Can be very cold here.

3 out of 5 stars Stiff warm-up

I was nearly frozen solid while belaying back in this windy spot, I wasn't sure if the moves would go as I couldn't feel my fingers or move my body well ;) It's a great climb, though, ideal for a warmer, non-windy day.

4 out of 5 stars Whew

That is a lot of 5.10, prepare for a good deadpoint down low if you don't have the reach. Would be an interesting lead as the moves are very committing.

4 out of 5 stars Tough

Thought this was tough.. maybe cuz of the campusing off the ground first route of the day. Great varied route and a challenge. A great warmup for the Beaver next door because it is almost as hard.
