One of the nicest 11's at the Lake. The crux is encountered just below the little roof/overlap.

Oh baby! This is the 12a to do. Pumpy, but with lots of rests on the way up. The roof crux is a bitch, but remember to face right when pulling over and you should be okay.

What can I say? This is the finest 11c at the Lake. It requires no technique whatsoever, just some endurance. The crux is right at the finish.

This one was rated 11d in my day, and I think that this grade is accurate. I don't know if the protection has been upgraded, but in my day you were climbing on pitons with one bolt at the traverse. A nice route, but there are better ones at the Lake.

Ahh, what an experience. Mostly slab, with the second to last pitch as the crux. The crux pitch is immaculate, although it is a bit run-out. After leaving the belay, climb up and to the left. There is a spot, if I recall, for some iffy pro just under the small roof. The pro over the roof, and in the crack, is excellent. The only bad part of this route is the approach and the exit pitch. The rock quality is better than that encountered on Yam.

Ha Ha Ha, not 11c! Shit, at the first break in the wall you can actually lie down and have a fucking nap on that ledge.

I climbed this one back in the old days when the protection consisted of three bolts. The first bolt was above the first roof, and just below the crux. It is a real pity that this one was retro-bolted.

What's the big deal with Yam? I've climbed a number of routes on the Yam and they were all disappointing. The first pitch on Red Shirt is like climbing a pane of glass. The crux traverse pitch is cool. What’s all this about Yam having hard grades, too? They might be considered hard grades if your climbing resume consisted of ascents at Cougar Canyon, otherwise…

An accident waiting to happen. Shit protection, and crap rock. Unless the protection has been upgraded, don't bother.
