About Alberta:
| Alberta has something for everyone. For the alpinists there are the relatively easy climbs like Mt Athabasca to the most feared mixed climbs in North America, such like Andromeda Strain on Mt. Andromeda, and the north face of North Twin, the most respected hard face in the Rockies. For the rock-jocks we have areas like Banff and Lake Louise, and for those interested in the cold and technical you won't have far to look, as the Canadian Rockies have the best ice-climbing in the world. The sheer number of routes, the stability of the conditions, the variety of settings, from practically super-Alpine to roadside access, and the wide range of difficulty is virtually unequalled. |
