5 out of 5 stars Superfun classic

First experience leading eyebrows at this level. Lead first three pitches, then seconded to the parking lot and took the 4th class variation to the summit. Amazing rock quality with unique NC features.

4 out of 5 stars Dry on a wet day

One of the few routes we found on a day that the rock was still drying out after rain overnight. Very fun eyebrows and cracks though

3 out of 5 stars Tricky start on a wet day

My first day at LG. Rock was wet at the bottom, which made the start tricky. There is no solid protection for the first couple of moves, so with the slab wet I aided up to a pre-placed cam and then free climbed the rest. Fun intro to climbing at LG.

4 out of 5 stars Slabby face variation on second pitch

Seconded up the first crack pitch on a wet day. Lead the second pitch, but the corner was running with water, so we moved out left to the top of the corner and climbed the thin face features for a few moves before it backed off again. The slabby face probably goes at 5.9, and I peeled off it once, but it is relatively well protected by plugging gear in the crack in the corner below.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful Fall Day

With the leaves changing color at this time of year, the Park was packed. We started out around 9:30 and beat the crowds, climbing with partner Evan. The views from the top were awesome, with sunny skies, no wind and temps in the 50s-60s. As it warmed up, ladybugs swarmed the South Face!

5 out of 5 stars Definitely a fun classic

Started climbing around 5am and hit summit around 11:30am to beat forecast, potential lightning storms. We just beat the rain, but heard some electrical activity on top, so we hightailed it to descend the Mountaineer's route in the rain (descent was not fun). The climb was great, though, with lots of fun exposure on very secure hand features the whole way. The traverse provides lots of varied views of the whole Eastern Sierra system. Many places where loose rock presents danger, especially on the MR descent.
