5 out of 5 stars tape

I have heard the consensus frm others that it is more likely consistent 5.10c/d on the crux sections rather than 5.11. Is this correct? I agree that the upper crack corner pitch can be made less painful if one tapes the hands....preserve your blood!

I am pretty perplexed how distasteful you found these routes on the Molar, Xover. I wonder why I have gone back to repeat them? One thing is that the looseness and lichen nature is cleaning up with time and the thing I hate most is its extreme proximity to the road, but otherwise, I think you should try them out again and give a second opinion. Or, then again...tell me what routes you really do like in the Wasatch and I will try to go climbing there!

Excellent long route. Definitely take an assortment of camalots to supplement the sparse bolt protection. It protects better than reported. What a beautiful place with great views. We didn't have to share it with anyone!

Fun climb and great pitches. No wonder it is a classic. Again, taking camalots along definitely allow better protection. Recommended!

This is a fun route, but I broke it up into two pitches to reduce drag. Getting past the cable is kinda tricky for 5.8(?), and in another area, a bolt would be indicated. What I did is tie off the cable, which was a bit bogus, but whatever! I get the feeling not alot of Minnesotans do much leading so that is why they don't need to install bolts.

This is good rock and only unfortunate that the routes don't go up further than 1/2 rope length. Very much loose rock and rockfall hazard exists on these routes...so be very careful. These are objectively the scariest climbs at Hellgate.

This is called Ashtar Command. I don't think Cameron Lawson wrote a desert guidebook, but Cam Burns did. It's not in there, though.
