Maybe not the best 5.6 in the country as some will claim but it is damn good. Every move is fun. P1 isn't that hard to protect. The roof on P2 is stellar.

Exiting the opening chimney sucked. I had to pull on a cam. The layback section is sweet and committing. but you'd need some really big to protect it. A #4 will only protect the start. P2 is one of the best 5.3 pitches in the gunks.

P1 was soaked which is probably why no one was on it at 11am in the morning. For P2, I traversed all the way to the arete to join the 5.6 part of Directissima. That was sweet. The crux P3 was really pretty easy compared to other gunks 6s. The bigger the cam, you have the better.

P1 wasn't any good but P2 had a descent traverse to a nice nose. P3 is what makes this a classic. Amazing jugs everywhere.

Absolutely Stellar climb. Three stars in my book. It rivals all the classic 6's. The crack at the start of P1 is sweet and the committing layback at the top of P1 is about as hard as 5.5 can get. P2 is classic, the traverse under the roof eats gear, is super exposed, pumpy and very committing. The climbing above is fun and exposed. A must.

The first 50' were pretty boring and didn't take the best gear but I was a little off route. The crack and corner was stellar climbing that protected well. Be very careful of a large, loose boulder.
