About Central Gorge:
Go up the paved Owens Road until you see a dirt road to your right. You will see an electrical towerwith lines headed straight down into the gorge. Also there is usually a 4x4 old post in a metal 5 gal pot at the intersection. That's your spot. Proceed down the trail. Long hike, but mainly Class 2. You can also walk/bike in from Lower Gorge. Concerned people keep improving the trail and it has become much easier. Always remove loose rocks from the trail as you use it. |
Approach: | Steep approach down 3rd class gully lined with slippery scree. Be careful not to dislodge rocks, there are climbers below on the pub wall. |
