Do your sit-ups. This route traces the right margin of the Pear's central roof. You can grovel up the 5.8 offwidth; better to climb the original line, the off-balance & slightly sandy handcrack to the right (10c). Now for the business: hump, swing, bearhug, and bat-hang your way left along the toothy flake beneath the ceiling, slinging some of the horns for gear. When you reach the seam midway along the roof, shove yourself in to the hips, lever your body up, and find a surprise over the roof. Slings at this belay. The route continues upward on engaging slabs, but many people stop here.
