Wigwam Dome
About Wigwam Dome:
400 foot tall dome recognized by the LARGE, rising, overhanging slash across the center of the slab. All routes go around this. The spire on the front of the dome is called TEE PEE Tower, and is about 200 feet tall and a fun summit in itself. Mostly long slab routes, in an excellent setting. Well worth the hike. |
Approach: | Park at the Wigwam Creek trailhead. Hike the trail past 5 stream crossings (4 with log bridges last one w/o. About 500m past the 5th crossing, the trail switchbacks left, then right to the top of a spur. Just after the switchback take a faint trail up the spur to your right straight towards the dome. Once you reach the rocks, follow the cairns (trail trends left once you run into the boulder field). |
