Description:

A good spotter and a bolt protect the start. The beginning sloper problem may be easier for those with a little longer reach. Thats it till you gain the crack at about 30'. Climb a nice 5.8 roof and then scramble through broken terrain and bushes to fashion an anchor. Continue up Steel Drivin' Man or angle left of the large column to join the standard route. The local guide gives the route a 9+

4 out of 5 stars almost a classic

At least R, with definite potential to deck before you gain the roof crack. Climbing 20' above the bolt isn't in my headspace yet, but the underclings/crimps/crack all add up for fun climbing. A stupid and reachy sloper and poor protection detract somewhat from the experience.
